Interview
I conducted the interview with my mom, Laura Forrey, who is a secretary at L'Anse Creuse High School- North. She mentioned to me awhile ago that their club brochure needed a major update, so when I found out about this project, I instantly contacted her. In relation to clubs, she is the one who gives the "okay" for new clubs. I found that, after talking to her about this project, they had been using the same template for many years now.

Laura is very passionate about her job and it shows. She wants to see all of the students succeed and always wants to put smiles on their faces. With this project, she wants me to capture the essence of LCN and the passion that she and her coworkers have for their job. Before the interview, she sent me the previous pamphlet that they had been using as a reference (seen here).

I set up an interview with her over the phone to go over what she wanted done with the pamphlet. She expressed that she wanted it to be a trifold pamphlet with a detailed front cover. She gave me the school colors, which are black, white, and gold, and asked me to incorporate them throughout. She also asked me to make the front color gradient gold. She wanted bold titles and as much color as I could add without going overboard. Her main request was to "add more life to it," as the previous model did not capture the essence of LCN.

Research
Following my interview with my client, I decided to do some research on the school. The school was opened in 1975, so it is fairly old. It is also a public school on the east side of Michigan. When looking at the website, I can tell that the school cares a lot about its students. On their "about" section, they chose to take the space to describe their anti-bullying policy, which shows how much they care. There are many pictures of their students on the main page, as well as their successful sports teams. They link the old club pamphlet on the website, so that is what I based my version on.
